Get to know Me
Hey!
Hi, I'm Donna—the creative eye behind the lens and proud snapper in the Northern Territory(Darwin Rural). I'm a mum of 4 that lives for the thrill of capturing movement, emotion, and the raw energy of sport for the benefit of family & friends to have life lasting memories. Whether it’s a muddy tackle in rugby union, a lightning-fast sprint in athletics, or the grit of rugby league, I chase the moments that tell a story.
From sideline action to candid team shots, my camera is tuned to the heartbeat of the game. I believe every image should celebrate community, courage, and connection—and I’m one of a large group of people with a passion for sports photography to make sure no epic moment goes unnoticed.
I thrive on game day vibes, camaraderie, and the chaos that makes sport so unforgettable. And as a proud sports mum, I know firsthand how much heart goes into every match—from the players on the field, the volunteers behind the scenes, to the families cheering them on. If there’s sweat, smiles, and a bit of mud—I’m there, lens ready.
Why I do this
I have adored photography all my life. I fell in love with sports photography the moment I started capturing my own kids on the field — their fierce game faces, their goofy moments, and all the little flashes of personality that happen in between plays. What began as a way to freeze those memories for my family quickly grew into something bigger, as teammates and friends wanted the same snapshots of their children’s journeys.
Today, I still follow my kids’ sports, but I’ve also expanded to photograph other teams and athletes who appreciate candid, energetic, story‑driven images. My goal is simple: to preserve the moments that matter — the grit, the joy, the friendships, and the memories families will treasure long after the season ends.
How I work
I’m at my best when I’m out in the daylight, capturing fast‑moving, high‑energy sports where every expression and every moment tells a story. I naturally gravitate toward rugby union, rugby league, and athletics — the sports I’ve followed for years — but my passion has grown beyond that.
In recent seasons, I’ve expanded into AFL, soccer, BMX, wheelchair rugby, disability sports, and more. I love stepping into new environments, learning the rhythm of each sport, and finding the moments that matter: the grit, the focus, the celebration, and the pure joy of playing. Team Photos and special individual photos included.
Fun Facts about me
I started sports photography by accident — I just wanted to capture my kids’ sporting moments...hilarious game faces, and suddenly I was photographing all the team.
I can sometimes spot a great action moment before it happens… but I still can’t predict when my own kids will smile nicely for a photo.
I’ve learned the rules of more sports than I ever expected, mostly by standing on the sidelines with a camera and pretending I already knew them.
I prefer daylight sports — partly for the lighting, partly because I’m not a fan of tripping over gear in the dark.
I’ve photographed everything from rugby to BMX to Athletics, and I love the challenge of figuring out the rhythm of each new sport. Long Jump & High Jump are some of my fav's.
I’ve become the unofficial “team historian” for multiple teams without ever applying for the job.
My favourite photos are the ones no one else notices in the moment — the fist bumps, the quiet focus, the goofy celebrations.
I still get excited every time I capture that perfect shot — the one that makes parents tear up and kids feel like superheroes.
Can't wait to meet you
